ARE YOU GOING TO HEAVEN?

 

If you were standing at the gate of heaven and God asked you...

"Why should I let you into heaven?"

What would you tell Him?

You might say, "Well, I think I lived a pretty good life."

God would say, "But what about all the wrong things you did?"

You reply, "Oh, those things.  Well, I tried my best."

God replies, "Oh really?  Well what about the time...."

You stop Him and reply, "I know, I know, please don't remind me.  Well, maybe I didn't always try my best, but I was sincere!"

God exclaims, "SINCERE?  What is sincerity worth?  You can be sincerely wrong, can't you?"

And you say, "Yes"

And God says, "So sincerity really isn't the issue.  Let us get back to the question at hand...Why should I let you in heaven?

And you tell God, "I never stole anything and I tried not to lie...doesn't all that count for something?

And God tells you, "I'm sorry, but that's not good enough."  So, see you later.

And you yell, "WAIT A MINUTE! Save Me!  Please God, Save Me!

Is this the conversation that you might have with God.  We pray not.  So, "How do we get into Heaven?"  Well, the question should be, "What Must I do to be Saved?"

 

 

The Bible answers these questions.  It tells us to "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved."  Acts 16:30,31

 

You see, God loves you and REALLY wants to have a relationship with you.  In John 3:16 it tells us "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

YOU HAVE A PROBLEM.  That problem is sin.  The Bible tells us in Romans 3:23 "that ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God."  Sin separates us from God's love as we find in Isaiah 59:2, "But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear."

Jesus Christ is the answer to your problem!  I Peter 3:18 tell us that "Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God."

 

So to get into heaven, we simple need to trust Jesus Christ as our personal savior, depending on Him alone for salvation.  Acts 16:31 tells us to "believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved."
